中藥夏枯草- 清涼解暑治瘰癆
萬般植物，均是春生夏長秋實冬凋，惟有夏枯草與眾不同! 《本草綱目》「 此草冬至生，夏至後即枯，蓋稟純陽之氣，得陰氣則枯，故有是名。夏枯草治目珠疼至夜甚者神效，以陽治陰也。」
夏枯草屬唇形科多年生草本植物的果穗。別名叫:鐵色草、大頭花、百花草。它作為我國最早的一味抗結核藥物而於兩千多年前被載入史冊，《神農本草經》謂其專治淋巴結核，是瘰癆的專藥。可以說，夏枯草是我國抗結核藥之先驅，為曆代瘰癆患者立下了不朽而顯赫的功績。
性味: 辛、苦、寒，無毒。歸肝、膽經。
功效及應用:
1) 清肝火，散鬱結，用於肝火上炎，目赤腫痛，目珠疼痛，羞明流淚，頭痛眩暈，並能治療高血壓，能使血壓下降。
2) 用於瘰癆、痰核、乳癰、乳腺癌、肺結核。
3) 筋骨疼痛，甲狀腺腫、急性結膜炎、流行性角膜炎、慢性咽喉炎、膽腺炎、急性黃膽型肝炎。也適宜作為夏季清涼解暑飲料。
使用注意: 夏枯草性偏寒涼，對胃有刺激，故平素脾胃虛弱及氣虛者應慎用飲用前可請教中醫師。
